CFO Services
The strategic brain your business needs. Without the six-figure salary.
Every growing business hits a point where gut instinct isn’t enough. You need someone who can look at the numbers and tell you what they actually mean — and what to do next. That’s what a CFO does.
The catch? A full-time CFO typically costs $200,000–$400,000 a year. Most growing businesses aren’t there yet. Crossroads gives you the same strategic thinking, the same financial rigor, and the same results — at a fraction of the cost.
Flat fee or variable. Your call.
We know that ‘it depends’ is the most annoying answer in consulting. So here’s the deal: our CFO services are available on a flat monthly retainer or a variable fee based on scope and hours. We’ll talk through what makes sense for your situation on our first call — no pressure, no bait-and-switch.
What we actually do
Our fractional CFO service covers four core areas. Most clients engage with all of them. Some need just one or two to start. We’ll help you figure out where to focus.
Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
Historical reports tell you where you’ve been. We build models that show you where you’re going.
Dynamic forecasting models that update as your business changes
Long-range budgets tied to your actual business goals
Scenario planning so you can stress-test decisions before you make them
Board-ready financial presentations and investor reporting
Data-Driven Decision Making
The best decisions come from clear data, not gut feelings or complicated spreadsheets you can’t read. We translate the complex stuff into plain language.
KPI frameworks built around what actually matters for your business
Executive dashboards that surface the right numbers at the right time
Monthly financial reviews with real analysis, not just reporting
Actionable insights that feed directly into your planning and strategy
Cash Flow Optimization
Cash flow is the lifeblood of any business. We make sure yours is healthy enough to seize opportunities — not just survive.
Revenue cycle analysis to find where cash is getting stuck
Burn rate monitoring with early warning systems
Capital allocation strategy so your money is working as hard as you are
Working capital optimization to reduce drag and improve liquidity
Growth & Capital Strategy
Whether you’re expanding, restructuring, or preparing for a raise, the financial decisions you make right now will shape the next five years. We make sure you get them right.
Expansion planning with financial modeling for new markets, locations, or products
Margin analysis and optimization to find hidden profitability
Capital raise preparation including investor materials and financial due diligence
Restructuring support when the business needs to reset and refocus
Is this right for you?
Our CFO services are a great fit if any of these sound familiar:
You’re making major decisions based on incomplete or hard-to-read financial information
You’re preparing for a capital raise and need your numbers to be investor-ready
You’re growing fast and need someone to make sure the financial infrastructure keeps up
You’ve been burned by decisions that looked good at the time but hurt you later
You know you need a CFO but can’t justify (or don’t need) a full-time hire yet
Questions we get asked a lot
How is this different from hiring a bookkeeper or accountant?
Great question. Bookkeepers and accountants manage what has happened. A CFO manages what’s going to happen. We’re focused on strategy, forecasting, and decision-making — not day-to-day transaction recording. (We do offer accounting services too, if you need both.)
Do I have to commit to a long-term contract?
No. We structure engagements around what makes sense for your situation. Some clients work with us for a specific project. Others bring us on as an ongoing partner. We’ll figure out the right fit on our first call.
How much time will you need from me?
Less than you’d think. Most clients spend 2–4 hours a month with us in meetings and reviews. We do the heavy lifting; you make the calls.
We’re pretty small. Is this overkill?
Honestly? Sometimes. We’ll tell you if a Business Assessment makes more sense as a starting point. We’re not interested in selling you something you don’t need.
